We're providing the resources below to help you get started in structuring small group discussions about the material in this course. Each workshop or activity comes with a lesson plan and some include a worksheet.
Feel free to use and adapt these materials to best serve the learning of your TAs. Before using any of these materials, please be sure to review our recommendations for Facilitating Discussions since these workshops should create a very different space than you would find in most STEM classrooms.
These will be most effective in groups of 12 or less, but we understand that not every supervisor using these materials will have the luxury of working with such small discussion groups. If you need to have larger discussion sections, we recommend breaking the larger group into smaller groups of 3-4, as described on the Common Discussion Structures page.
The resources linked for each activity are in the form of Google Docs so that you can make copies and adapt them for your specific context. If you would prefer to download them all at once in a PDF format, you can do so with this .zip file: aiice_ta_pd_workshop_materials.zip
