Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) is an association of Indian mathematicians that has been in existence since 2009. The objective of IWM is to encourage more women to pursue higher education in Mathematics and to organize events and networking opportunities that will enable them to take up careers in Mathematics. IWM organizes various activities throughout the year. To effectively serve its objectives, several workshops are held each year in different parts of the country.

In association with VNIT Nagpur, IWM is organizing a one-and-a-half day regional workshop on research and opportunities. This workshop is open to all post-graduate students, Ph.D. students, post-doctoral fellows and college/university faculty members, working in various areas of mathematics. There will be a special focus however on women participants. The aim is to encourage and support large scale participation from women.

The objective of the workshop is to provide an exposure to research and a platform to discuss career opportunities in mathematics. Some well-known mathematicians from different parts of the country will deliver lectures at this event. There will be a discussion on career opportunities in mathematics available for students. Young researchers will be encouraged to interact with senior mathematicians, and will be given an opportunity to present their mathematical work in the form of posters.

Who are eligible to apply: Mathematics M.Sc. Students, Ph.D. students, postdocs, college/university faculty members from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, nearby regions of Karnataka and Odisha.

• An email on the address as mentioned in the applications has been sent to all the selected applications. You are required to confirm your participation using the google form given in the email.

Participants will be selected on the basis of information provided in the registration form. A limited number of participants may be accommodated in the students' hostels of VNIT Nagpur. For selected outstation participants, limited travel support is available.

We also welcome participants to present a poster in the workshop. In this case, a title and an abstract (not exceeding 200 words) have to be provided in the application. We will send an email notification to participants whose abstracts get shortlisted for poster presentations.
