To fully support your induction all new teachers are assigned a Buddy to help you familiarise yourself with the school and to also have someone that you can just ask any questions that crop up.
You will be told your buddy during your first induction session.
A comprehensive Induction Program is also offered to all new teachers.
If you have any questions that are not covered in your induction, there are several people you can ask for support:
Learning Area Leader
Assistant Principal: School Operations
Assistant Principal: Curriculum
Head of Houses
House Leaders
Please read the attached document outlining the processes concerning days not present at school.
All teachers are responsible to enter their personal absences into the EIK within two days of returning to work.
All teaching staff at Mount Barker High School will be allocated four 15 minute duties per week for full-time teachers and three 15 minutes duties per week for part-time teachers.
Please read the policy to understand the different areas and requirements whilst completing this duty.
Class lists for your allocated classes will appear on DayMap. You have a legal responsibility to mark the class list accurately each lesson. Please ensure you only accept students into your classroom that are listed on DayMap. If a student has completed a subject change, students will receive an updated copy of their timetable (on paper) or teachers will receive an email/DayMap message from our Wellbeing Coach or one of our Assistant Principals stating that we have permission for the subject change to occur. By sighting one of these, is the only reason to accept a student, not listed on your DayMap roll, into your classroom. If the students name continues to not appear on DayMap, please email kirsten.wissell537@schools.sa.edu.au to follow up.
