Are you interested in learning about how to cultivate natural spaces in your backyard that can be enjoyed by wildlife? Ever thought about planting your own wildflower garden, but don't know where to start or what to plant? If so, your should join us for our 2022 Native Plant Symposium! Started in 2016, the Native Plant Symposium has spotlighted experts in the field of natural resources, offered workshops, and held intentional space for community conversations regarding Montana native plants. The theme for the event this year is Urban Gardening For Wildlife, during which we will hear from a medicinal gardener and ethnobotanist, landscaper, entomologist, and a soil scientist to learn about how native plants and the cultivation of healthy soil improves habitat for pollinators, provides forage for wildlife, assists in water conservation, and connects us to nature.
The Native Plant Symposium is produced from the collaborative efforts of local Billings organizations, businesses, and community members.
*We will be holding this event virtually this year due to COVID-19*
