To get the best quality audio you can use the 4 channel mixing boards. These boards can handle 4 independent microphones when used with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. You can also adjust the input levels for tone and volume. Watch the videos below to learn more about how to use the equipment.
Step 1: Plug in the power cord and flip the switch on the back of the mixer
Step 2: Plug in the USB cable and click the mode button until the screen reads PC.
Step 3a: For 1-2 MICS plug mic cables into Mics and to line 1 and line 2 on the mixing board.
Step 3b: For MICS 3 and 4 you will need to use the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2.
Plug the USBC cable into the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and your computer.
Plug your microphones into lines 1 and 2 on the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2.
Plug in 1/4" audio cables into the Right and Left Line inputs on the back of the device.
Plug the other side of the cables into the jacks marked 3 & 4 on the Mixing Board and depress the button marked 3/4 under "USB Player"
Adjust the levels using the 3/4 USB column.
Step 4: Plug headphones into headphone jack using 1/4" adapter.
Step 5: Open Audacity and click on "Audio Setup", then "Recording Device", and then finally "Microsoft Sound Mapper".
Step 6: Adjust the Gain, High, Mid, Low, and Level adjustments on the Mixing Board as the voice talent read through their scripts. Do not begin recording until the levels sound correct.
Step 7: Record on Audacity! Make sure to save your project when finished.
