Jazz Band to be an everyday class rather than a club this year. This means we will be able to rehearse more, listen more, and have more fun. I'm very excited to create music with you!
Develop the skills needed to perform a variety of jazz styles
Read and interpret jazz notation, rhythms, and chord symbols
Build off of the technique and tone production studied in concert band
Understand the historical and cultural significance of jazz
Reflect on performances and set goals for musical growth
Improvise and create their own musical ideas
Listen, communicate, and respond to other musicians
Perform confidently in concerts and festivals
