President
Sarah is honored to have served as the 2021-2022 SHRM President! Currently, she works as a Teaching Assistant for Marketing 250. Previously, she interned at Whirlpool, Textron, The Michigan House of Representatives, and Wieland, as well as worked as a Resident Assistant and Career Peer. After graduation, Sarah will be joining Mercer as a Career Analyst. While not working on school or SHRM activities, Sarah enjoys reading, planning her upcoming wedding, watching Full House, knitting, and baking.
Vice President
Sara is a second-year student in the Masters of Human Resources and Labor Relations program at Michigan State University, graduating in May 2022. During her time at school, she has enjoyed serving as MSU SHRM Chapter's Vice President and working alongside her board members this past year.
Sara is currently working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate Business Communication course, Marketing 250. She also works part-time for PepsiCo for their COVID Call Center until she begins full-time with the organization in July as a Human Resources Representative. In her free time she enjoys traveling, playing the flute, and spending time with family & friends.
Financial Officer
Lauren is a recent graduate of the Masters of Human Resources and Labor Relations program at Michigan State University. During her time at MSU, she enjoyed spending time on campus in East Lansing and getting to know her fellow MSU HRLR students. She truly enjoyed serving as the Financial Officer for the MSU SHRM Chapter and can't wait to see what exciting things the new board accomplishes this next year!
Lauren is getting ready to start a new role as a Compensation Analyst at Cummins, Inc. in February. In her spare time, Lauren loves reading, spending time with family, and spending time up in Northern Michigan with her husband.
Professional Development Officer
Rachel is a current second year, second semester student in the Master of Human Resources and Labor Relations program at Michigan State University. She has loved serving as the Professional Development Officer of MSU SHRM, helping to connect HR leaders, organizations and the MSU SHRM chapter. She received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and community and global health from Kalamazoo College in 2020. She loves to travel, completed a cognitive science study abroad program and research internship in Budapest, Hungary.
Rachel also serves as a graduate research assistant with the ANDIE lab at MSU, focusing on important DEI initiatives, research, and accountability in the workplace, and a graduate research assistant for student employment with the Center for Career and Professional Development at Kalamazoo College. This past summer, she interned with L3Harris Technologies on the HR Operations team. After graduation she will be joining the Talent Management Center of Excellence team at L3Harris Technologies as a Senior Associate within the Space and Airborne Systems segment. Her HR passion areas are organizational change and development, HR strategy, compensation, and employment law.
Communications Officer
Lilly is a second-year student in the Masters of Human Resources and Labor Relations program. She has enjoyed collaborating with the excellent eboard and serving as the Communications Coordinator for MSU SHRM. She has attended the MSU SHRM Conference in 2020 & 2021, so she is thrilled to be able to assist in planning and implementing the 2022 MSU SHRM Conference!
She currently works as a Senior Recruiter at EG Workforce Solutions. Lilly has been an HR intern for the Kalamazoo Nature Center and Jacobs Engineering Group. During her free time, she loves to take her pup on walks, watch Netflix, catch up with friends, and visit new places!
MBA Liaison
Lily is a second-year MBA student concentrating in Human Resources & Strategic Management. Her dual-role in MSU SHRM and in the MBA HR Association is to help bridge students from the Broad College MBA program with their peers and resources available in the School of Human Resources & Labor Relations.
After graduation, Lily will join Dell Technologies' HR Rotation Program to expand her HR acumen. Lily's career has been in Learning & Development in the financial services sector prior to her start at MSU. Lily has enjoyed attending the MSU SHRM conference for many years and is glad to work behind the scenes to bring it to attendees from near and far.
Human Capital and Society and Liaison
Joanna is currently dual enrolled as an undergraduate in the Human Resources and Labor Relations Masters program. During her time at school she has enjoyed serving as the first Human Capital and Society Undergraduate Liaison. Additionally, she enjoys attending Michigan State basketball games, getting to know her peers, traveling, and watching Netflix. Currently, Joanna is working as a Research Assistant, and as a Human Resources Assistant with the State of Michigan. This upcoming Summer Joanna will be joining International Paper in Alabama.
