Hi! My name is David Sceggel and this is my portfolio page for the MAFLT program at Michigan State University. I currently teach Spanish 1 and 4 at Illinois Valley Community high school in Chillicothe, IL.
I grew up in Peoria, IL and graduated from Illinois State University in Normal, IL with a Technology Education degree. My teaching career has had many twists and turns, and I have lived and taught in three different countries. I have traveled to 23 different countries. In 2009, I married my wife, and we now have two children. We have lived in Chillicothe, IL since 2010. I love teaching Spanish and researching second language acquisition.
I am excited to show you some of the highlights from the MAFLT program! Check out the videos, beliefs, lessons and other great features from this program.
This online portfolio highlights some of my favorite artifacts I have developed during the MAFLT program. These artifacts demonstrate my language teaching skills, knowledge of how languages are acquired, my philosophies of world language teaching, and my reflections on best practices. I love to teach and I hope my joy of teaching is evident in each artifact.
