Graduate Student Organization Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

I am the current Co-chair of the graduate student organization DEI committee for the CMSE department , and served as the chair during the 2022-2023 academic year. Undergraduate Activities

Just Peace

Just Peace, is a peace promoting, social activism/advocacy/awareness group on campus. Just Peace runs events on many different topics, depending on current events and membership interest. We also collaborate with other organizations on and off campus. Our event topics range from mental health to climate justice. Last fall semester (2019) I was in charge of one of our most popular drives, the Period Project. We collect pads and tampons to donate to those in need throughout the course of a month, including various events to raise goods and awareness on period poverty and menstrual health. This year, Just Peace was thrilled to win the Don Shaffer Student Peacemaker Award from Peace Action New York State, our mother organization. Currently, I am a Student Peace Co-Organizer Intern for PANYS.

Women Inspiring Successful Enterprise (W.I.S.E.)

As a W.I.S.E. Fellow at Manhattan College during Summer 2020, I learned how important leadership and professional development is for making an impact. This highly competitive summer internship program selects women active on campus and creates a cohort of women to support and learn with each other as we work in internships or research in our given fields and engage in professional development workshops. The program was helpful in understanding ourselves, our teams, our workplaces, and communities.

Lasallian Outreach Volunteer Experience (L.O.V.E.)

During my sophomore year, I also participated in the Lasallian Outreach Volunteer Experience (L.O.V.E.) program at Manhattan College. After a semester of meetings to prepare for the trip and learn more about social justice, the school group traveled to El Cercado, Dominican Republic. We spent a week working with and learning from members of the community. We heard their stories and worked in the fields with them, including digging trenches to lay pipes to bring water closer to some of the families who did not have easy access to clean water. It was eye-opening and so rewarding to me, and I still have several friends in the Dominican Republic, with whom I remain close and speak to regularly.

Math Club

I am a member of the Math Club on campus, participating in events such as movie nights, field trips, and more.
