My proficiency with the Spanish language began when I was an infant. I spoke in Spanish with my parents, but we also spoke in English. My three older siblings spoke with me in English. I spoke English at school, and Spanish at home with my parents. Overall, the only real skills I had developed in Spanish were listening and speaking until I was in middle school. My Spanish writing and reading skills increased when I started Spanish I in middle school. I continued with Spanish classes until Spanish IV. I proceeded to take the Spanish AP exam to receive college credit hours for Spanish.
I feel that my Spanish skills could improve all around, but I am very happy that I have had an opportunity to have been learning it my entire life. I enjoy reading novels in Spanish to continue practicing Spanish. I plan to continue studying the language and continue practicing on a daily basis. I enjoy speaking the language and plan to pass on the language with my future children.
