My name is Megan Hinesley and I am a foreign language educator who has taught in Northern California. For the past eight years, I have taught Spanish and history to grades 6-12. I am passionate about entry level language classes and inclusion of students with learning disabilities in the language classroom.
Throughout my time in the MAFLT program at Michigan State University I have continued learning about inclusion in the language classroom and the nuance of how to best serve teachers, parents, and students within this area.
Learning a new language can be an exciting, but uncertain, experience for any student but for those with a learning disability, there are even more barriers to access. From obvious blocks to things that might not make themselves known until class as begun, I know education will continue to evolve and shift to make spaces for all to belong.
I am excited to see how these resources can impact your classrooms! Thank you for checking out my project!
