Session Requests

CyberAmbassadors training is available from a number of sources, including:

  • Through the Certificate Program, which is offered online several times a year and open to all interested participants.

  • By contacting a trained facilitator in your local region.

  • Through a Tau Beta Pi chapter (student and alumni), which may host CyberAmbassadors training through the Engineering Futures program.

Hosting Requirements

The host is expected to make local arrangements for in-person sessions (e.g., reserving a room, recruiting participants) and to work with the facilitator on other logistics. Hosts may not charge participants for the training. However, it is okay to impose a modest registration fee (up to about $25) that is either refunded when participants complete the session or used to purchase refreshments for the session. (Hosts are not required to provide refreshments, but doing so may encourage attendance.)

Volunteer Interest

The CyberAmbassadors program relies on volunteers to serve as facilitators and to help with the logistics of this national training effort. Examples of ways to get involve include:

  • Getting trained as a facilitator.

  • Serving as a host or moderator for an online training.

  • Assisting with data collection and analysis (e.g., session summaries, attendance).

  • Helping to track participants' progress towards earning the Certificate, and sending out earned certificates.
