Six of our undergrads were recently co-authors in mulitple studies published in the journals of Bioprinting and Journal of Materials Science Materials in Medicine. Publications

Lab alumni Michala Clark and Lauren Flowers were both accepted to the University of Missouri School of Medicine starting in Fall of of 2020! Gorgina Barsoum, another lab alumni, was accepted to medical school at UMKC!

Amnah Alajaj joined the lab as a graduate student in January! Amnah says, "I am always passionate about learning, that is why I love science, it really inspires me to learn something new each single day and always helps me grow and believe in the magic and beauty of this world.

Brad Bromet joined the lab as a graduate student in January! Brad graduated from S&T with a B.S. in biology and already knows his way around the lab.

Dr. Julie Semon received a teaching award. S&T students make teaching fun!

Sonya Roberts was accepted to the Biomedical Engienering program at UC-Davis!

Nada Abokefa is our newest graduate student! Nada graduated from the Biomolecular chemistry program from Cairo University. Her Master's thesis will focus on bioprinting adipose stem cells.

Daniela Ochoa joined us for the summer to evaluate the angiogenic potential of bioactive glass. Daniela is going into her junior year at Lincoln University. She is now the most successful egg cracker we've ever had!

Tony Ragusa, one of our original lab members, is now a medical student at the University of Missouri School of Medicine!

Sam Greaney, Laura Murray and Lisa Gutgesell, all biological sciences majors, recieved a Miner Tank Award for their proposal on “The Use of Bioactive Glass in the Treatment and Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections” created in the BioDesign and Innovation class.

Morgan Long and Dalal Abduljaleel, both biological sciences majors, received a Miner Tank Award for their proposal on “Borate Dental Impants” created in the BioDesign and Innovation class.

Daniel Park accepted a position as a clinical research coordinator at Washington University - St Louis!

Michelle Rojo was accepted to the PhD Biomedical Sciences program at Tulane School of Medicine - my alma mater!

Emily Mulawa was accepted to the PhD Bioengineering program at Colorado State University!
