Reading at home - All children have a reading journal that needs to be brought into school every day. Please aim to read at least three times a week at home with your child. Reading books will be checked and changed on Wednesdays, unless your child has moved to Accelerated Reader in which case they will change books as they finish them and complete a quiz in school. Reading journals will also be checked on Fridays. Please click here for the link to the slides from our parent information session.

Spellings - in Term 1, Year 2 children will have spelling lessons that link to our phonics scheme, Unlocking Letters and Sounds. There will be a different spelling focus each week, and we will have an informal check on Fridays. Year 1 will continue to embed their phonics knowledge and will also learn the spellings for different groups of common exception words each week.

Doodlemaths - All children will have a log in which can be found in their Reading Records.  They will then be expected to do Doodlemaths three times a week - once at school, and twice at home.

Wellies as we approach the wetter and colder weather, we ask that children bring their wellies into school. 

PE Lessons in Term 1 will be on a Thursday and Friday. Please make sure your child wears their PE kit on these days.
