๐Ÿ‘‰Mount Vernon - Apply to attend a free 5-day immersive professional development program at Mount Vernon to learn more about George Washington and the 18th-century world he lived in. Choose from six thematic programs hosted between June 11-August 3, 2024.


๐Ÿ‘‰Colonial Williamsburg - The Teacher Institute offers week-long sessions, three-day seminars and online programs, immersing participants in an interdisciplinary approach to teaching social studies with American history as the focus.


๐Ÿ‘‰Thomas Jefferson Monticello - The Thomas Jefferson Foundation is proud to offer the Monticello Teacher Institute (MTI), an immersive professional development program that provides social studies teachers the opportunity to research and study at Monticello and the Jefferson Library in Charlottesville, Virginia.

As we move forward with the science of reading, explicit instruction is one of the core pieces we need to master. The resource below provides you an opportunity to explore what explicit instruction means. There are videos of a teacher modeling explicit instruction as well as other resources.ย ย
