Weekly Updates
May 20th-24th
With only 7 days left, this will be our last update to the Coaches Corner this school year.
We want to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for all you have done this year for your students. Teaching is an art, a science, a profession and a calling that ensures that all children have opportunities. You have given your students the tools that they need to have a big and bright future. Thank you for making a positive difference in the lives of your students and Happy Summer! ☀️
End of Year Reminders:
Foundational Reading Assessment: the end of year literacy task must be administered and entered in iReady the last 30 days of school. Please see the Curriculum Connection site for guidance and materials.
Dyslexia Screeners: These should be updated in SIS and family communication sent home (for students identified at-risk).
iReady diagnostic results: These will be printed for each building (ELA and Math) for you to send home to families. Please make sure to attach the cover letters to each of these, and indicate each student's progress.
RSPs: Update the Spring diagnostic scores and Progress Monitoring. Don't forget to download as a PDF and upload to SIS by the end of the grading term. You can use the RSP Exit Criteria document to determine if you have any students that can now enter the Monitoring/Maintenance phase or possibly exit their RSP (if they were previously in the monitoring/maintenance phase and have maintained proficient results).
Textbook Disposal: Follow your building's guidelines for textbook disposal, and reach out to us if you have any questions.
For Ready Math: Please send workbooks home with students, and share with parents that this could be a great resource to keep your students' math skills fresh for next year. Teacher Manuals and Extra Student Workbooks should be listed on the Text Book Disposal Form.
For ELA: Put Lucy, LLI, NSGRA, etc. on the textbook disposal form.
We have been visiting each building (and will continue this week) to review curriculum updates for next school year, including the new update to Ready Math.
ENJOY these last days with your students- and then RELAX over summer break!
If you have any questions, always feel free to reach out to us!
Have a great week!

Math Workshop Model Highlight
This week, we wanted to provide a few more questions you could present to your students either during the Mini Lesson or Practice portion of the Math Workshop Model. These questions promote student thinking, problem solving, and student discussion.
If you end up trying one of these problems in your classroom, let us know how it went! :)
