MSD TEAM Program Goals

• Provide a systematic and continuous method of identifying gifted students who are in need of gifted program support that does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or qualified disability.
• Provide a program and curriculum that will enable each student to develop his/her abilities to the fullest with a combination of enrichment, acceleration, and guidance to promote individual growth.
• Establish learning environments that value and enhance intelligence, talent, creativity, higher levels of thinking, problem solving, and affective growth.
• Provide educational opportunities and differentiated experiences particularly suited to the needs of gifted learners through which they can continue developing and exceed their potential.
• Provide opportunities for active participation and engagement of students, parents, families, staff, and community members.
• To assist students in developing their investigative skills, improve their higher level thinking skills, develop their expression of creative abilities, improve their communication skills, and to foster their affective development (feelings, values, awareness of self and others).
