Welcome Letter

:Dear Parents,

Welcome to 5th grade at Scott Elementary! I’m excited to partner with you this school year, and I believe this year will be full of fun, growth, and rewarding experiences for your child.

This year, your child will have two core teachers. Mrs. Simmons will teach Math, Science, and Social Studies, and I will be teaching English Language Arts. In addition to these subjects, your child will also have the chance to enjoy music with Mrs. Harry and Mr. Richardson twice each rotation, physical education with Mr. Barnes twice each rotation, and art with Ms. Prince once each rotation.

I love  working at Scott Elementary and can’t wait to meet your child and begin this exciting journey together.

As a teacher, my mission is to help students understand themselves and their unique strengths. I want to guide them in connecting their talents with their role and purpose in life. While learning important concepts is part of the process, it’s even more important that your child realizes what they do in school truly matters—not just for grades, but for building skills like time management, work ethic, positive communication, and habits that will support them throughout their lives.

As a parent myself, I understand the mix of excitement and concerns that come with starting a new school year. I also know how important it is that we keep communication open between home and school. I’m sure you have high hopes for your child—just like I do. By working together, I’m confident we’ll make this year a successful and memorable one.
