Classroom Rules and Management

School Rules/Classroom Rules

Students are expected to follow the classroom and

Scott Elementary School's expectations of:

Respect, Responsibility, & Right Choices

My Discipline Policy

I believe that children need to learn the importance of accepting responsibility for their actions. All children are expected to follow classroom rules and procedures, and I will help them learn to do so in a positive and fair manner. Good discipline allows me to teach and students to learn. This is the right of every student.

This year we will be using Scott Bucks for positive behavior and lots of verbal praise. I know however, sometimes students make mistakes and need reminders about changing their behavior. Every child has 4 colored chips velcroed to the inside of their desk. They can lose these chips when they need to make better choices. If they lose all 4 chips before the end of the day, they will receive a note home. I believe in natural consequences, however they may end of losing some fun time whether that be recess or chrome book time, etc. The only exception to this rule, may be for hitting (physical contact) or an office referral.
