Behavior Management Plan:

  • Here at MES, we have Core Values:

  1. Be Kind

  2. Be Honest

  3. Be Accepting

  4. Be safe

Learning in 5th grade is our main goal; however, interruptions in the learning process do occur from time to time. If this happens, the behavior is addressed immediately. Each student has number on the board. They will start at level 3 each day. They will have the ability to level up receiving a wampam each time they level up. The highest level is level 5. However, you can also level down. If a student has to level down, they will lose their daily privilege for that day and possibly the next day. Leveling down could also result in a write up, a call or email home, or loss of Fun Friday or monthly rewards.

The class will also be rewarded throughout the day, by earning wampums for positive behavior. When they get a wampum, they write their name on the back and put it in the jar on my table by 8:25 Friday morning. At the end of the week, we will draw four names from the wampum jar. Those students will get to choose a prize from my treasure box. J This is another way we reward the students on a daily basis.

Finally, We utilize PBIS, (Positive Behavior Intervention System) where students will be rewarded for positive behavior on a school wide scale as well.
