Mascoutah High School offers dual credit opportunities through Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) as well as St. Louis University 1818 program. Course offerings are offered based on student requests and may rotate on even and odd years.
Dual credit is a SWIC-high school partnership program, where qualified students can earn college credit and high school credit in the same class. eCollege classes are taught at the high school by SWIC-approved high school instructors using college curriculum. These classes are free of charge. Grades earned in these classes will be placed onto a SWIC transcript and count towards a college GPA. Students are eligible for these classes based on gpa criteria set by SWIC. See your counselor for more information.

The 1818 Advanced College Credit program through SLU, allows students to get a head start on a college career by earning dual credit. Students intersted in SLU dual credit must be eligible based on their GPA set by SLU. SLU does charge a fee per credit hour. Grades earned in these classes will be placed onto a SLU transcript and count towards a college GPA. See your counselor for more information. Current courses available through SLU include:

Stat 1300: Statistics (full year at MHS=one semester SLU)
Math 1400: Pre-Calculus (full year at MHS=one semester SLU)
Math 1400: AP Pre-Calculus (full year at MHS=one semester SLU)
Math 1510: Calculus (full year at MHS=one semester at SLU)
A program designed for highly qualified high school students to earn a high school diploma from Mascoutah High School while simultaneously earning an Associates of Arts or Associates of Science Degree from Southwestern Illinois College.
Eligibility:
• Enrolled as a high school sophomore and have completed one full semester at MHS
• Possess a 3.2/4.0 GPA
• Be in good standing and on track to graduate
• Recommended by a counselor or principal
• Completion of a minimum of Advanced Geometry with an A and currently enrolled in a minimum of Advanced Algebra II, or
completion of Advanced Algebra II with an A.
• Take the SWIC placement assessment into college level English and math courses
• Completion College Success Strategies with an A, during the summer at SWIC
• Must maintain a cumulative SWIC GPA of 2.5 or higher each semester to remain eligible for the program
• 2025-2026 current fees at SWIC–$4550
• Provide own transportation
• Pay for textbook fees
*Parent/Guardian and Student must permit the release of said student’s Grades, Attendance, and Discipline History as part of the application process.
A meeting will be held for eligible students in late January of each year.
This is a program that allows juniors to earn a high school diploma while simultaneously earning an Associate's Degree from SWIC. It is a 2-year program that is not able to be completed early. Please see the course catalog for eligibility criteria.
This is a program that allows seniors to earn a full year of college credits while simultaneously earning their high school diploma. At the completion of the 1-year program, students can remain at SWIC to complete their Associate's Degree, or they may transfer the credits to another college or university.
