My name is Megan Fritz, and I’m the School Counselor at River Heights Elementary School. I feel so lucky to be part of this wonderful community and to work alongside such amazing students, families, and staff. My role as a school counselor is to support students’ social and emotional well-being, helping them build confidence, resilience, and strong relationships so they feel safe and ready to learn.

Here are some of the ways I support students:

• Teaching classroom lessons on topics like kindness, empathy, conflict resolution, and managing big emotions

• Leading small groups to practice skills such as friendship, confidence, and coping strategies

• Providing short-term individual counseling for school-related concerns, giving students tools to manage challenges and build healthy habits

• Offering crisis support when unexpected challenges arise

• Partnering with families, teachers, and community resources to ensure students feel cared for and supported both inside and outside of school

My goal is for every child at River Heights to know they are valued, supported, and never alone as they grow.
