This site will be used for our MSD Problem Solving Team process. The PST team meets weekly to support classroom teachers with students who are continuing to struggle after tier-two level supports have been put into place. This team strengthens interventions and progress monitoring with data collection. Our goal with this site is to have an aligned system throughout MSD that promotes equity in experience and outcomes for students throughout our district.
A strong PST system is reliant on an aligned system throughout the tiers. This includes strong core instruction, assessment, data teams, and intervention within Tier 1. The PST process lands at the top of the yellow zone and the beginning of the red zone on this triangle.
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is a framework of interventions and support that schools use to help students who struggle academically and /or behaviorally. In MSD there are many teams that support the work of MTSS, this sample document illustrates the MSD team approach.
Whether you have an academic, social-emotional, or other concern about a student, we have a process to support educators in accessing the help they need with students. The Elementary Student Support At A Glance can help you navigate this process.
