What exactly is a GLOW Session?
Teachers often say, "They train us...but they never give us time to do something with it. We need time to put it into practice." THIS is the time! You will have the opportunity to choose 2 or 3 of your favorite ideas from the conference, customize them for your upcoming lessons, and "make & take" them to your classroom. It's time to practice what you've learned...but with a "best friend" by your side. Because it is a collaborative work session with other educators who teach the same things you do...it quite possibly could turn into a "divide and conquer" session. If everyone creates something...and shares it...this could be the most productive PD EVER!!! 😉
There are a limited number of special room rates available on location for conference attendees.
Since the conference is scheduled during Helen's peak summer season, using THIS LINK will offer you a significant discount for these dates. 😊
*Georgia educators are also eligible for tax exemption at the hotel
Visit this Bavarian-style town in Georgia for outdoor adventures, fantastic festivals and tons of family fun. The Alpine town of Helen takes its inspiration from the villages of Germany, complete with the building style of downtown shops and restaurants. But it’s also in the heart of Northeast Georgia, offering travelers outdoor sports like tubing down the Chattahoochee and hiking, along with wine tasting at the many vineyards nearby. This is the perfect spot for a mini vacation with your family...or a road trip with friends (who might just happen to be your colleagues too) ;)

My name is Janet Burnett. I am an educator, technology innovation specialist, presenter, wife, and mother. I love teaching, but technology is my passion. This is my 22nd year in education. I have taught third grade, fifth grade, Title I Reading and Math intervention classes, and weekly elementary technology classes for grades 3-6. It is my experience that I have gained in these roles that is the key component needed to recognize how certain tech tools will mesh perfectly with the content standards of the curriculum. I currently work with first and second grade teachers to help them integrate technology into daily lessons and offer professional development for K-12 teachers in my school district. I am also an adjunct instructor at the University of North Alabama where I teach Instructional technology courses for elementary education majors. The latest and greatest technology tools keep my mind spinning, so I love to collaborate with other educators across the U.S. as I share ideas through technology professional development.
