Each program will offer a different summer enrichment experience. Programs will be led by faculty from the Montessori School of Anderson and/or Anderson District Two. Camp Information

Camp Times

Camps start at 8:30 AM and conclude at 3:30 PM each day. Students may pay an "extended day" fee to provide child care until 5:30 PM each day. Campers may be dropped off starting at 7:30 each morning.

Lunch

No lunches will be served during the summer camps aside from pizza on Friday for those who choose to order. All children will need a lunchbox Monday through Thursday. All food items must be nut-free. A morning snack will be provided for all, and an afternoon snack will be provided for those staying for extended day.

Medical Information

For programs that involve outside activities, please send your child to campus with sunscreen applied. Sunscreen can be re-applied in the afternoons if you provide a bottle of sunscreen that may be kept on campus. Please label the sunscreen with your child’s name.

Ultimate Frisbee & Gaming

May 26-29 (4-day Camp)

This four-day camp blends high-energy outdoor play with creative indoor fun! Campers ages 7–12 will learn and play Ultimate Frisbee, test their skills with Frisbee Golf, and unwind with collaborative Minecraft gaming. The camp is welcoming for beginners who are brand new to Frisbee and/or gaming, while also offering plenty of challenges for more experienced players. Through games, team challenges, and creative builds, campers develop teamwork, strategy, coordination, and imagination—all while having a blast both on the field and on the screen.

What campers will do:

🥏 Outdoor Activities

1. Learning & Playing Ultimate Frisbee

Learning how to throw different Frisbee throws (backhand, forehand, etc.)
Practicing catching and movement drills
Playing small team games that lead up to full Ultimate matches
Learning teamwork, passing strategies, and sportsmanship

2. Frisbee Golf (Disc Golf)

Walking a course and throwing discs toward targets/baskets
Learning how to aim, control distance, and choose the right throw
Friendly competitions or mini-tournaments
Trick shots and obstacle challenges

3. Team Challenges & Field Games

Relay races with Frisbees
Target throwing competitions
Cooperative challenges where teams earn points together

Dig Deep Into Coding

June 1-5

Dig Deep into Coding is the perfect beginner-friendly camp for curious builders and future engineers, where campers explore the basics of engineering, planning, and coding through interactive challenges in Minecraft Education. As they design, problem-solve, and bring their ideas to life block by block, campers will learn foundational coding concepts in a fun, supportive environment made especially for those just starting their coding journey — no experience needed!

What campers will do:

🧱 Minecraft Building Challenges

Campers design and construct things inside Minecraft while thinking like engineers.

Examples might include:

Building a house or base that survives different challenges
Designing a bridge that connects two cliffs
Creating a village or city layout
Building a farm or food system

These activities teach planning, structure design, and problem-solving.

🤖 Beginner Coding with Minecraft Agents

Using block-based coding tools in Minecraft Education, campers program an in-game helper (called an agent).

Activities might include:

Coding the agent to mine blocks automatically
Programming it to collect resources
Creating a path-following robot
Writing simple commands like loops and sequences

This introduces coding concepts like:

Commands
Loops (repeated actions)
Step-by-step logic
Conditional actions

🤝 Team Challenges

Campers will collaborate on bigger builds. Examples include:

Building a shared city
Creating a theme park or adventure map
Solving puzzles together

This builds teamwork, communication, and creative thinking.

Camp Create is where curiosity comes to life! Campers will dive into an exciting topic of their choice, become mini-experts through hands-on research, and then bring their discoveries to the spotlight by creating awesome videos, eye-catching posters, detailed models, and other imaginative projects. This high-energy camp blends creativity, exploration, and presentation skills as kids learn how to turn big ideas into powerful, shareable creations — and have a blast showing the world what they know!

What campers will do:

🔎 Topic Exploration & Research

At the start, campers choose a topic they’re excited about and learn more about it. Examples of topics might include animals, dinosaurs, space, video games, and more!

🎨 Creative Project Making

After learning about their topic, campers create projects that show what they discovered.

Examples could include:

Posters or infographics with facts and pictures
3D models (like a volcano, rocket, or animal habitat) or digital models in Minecraft EDU or TinkerCad
Dioramas that show a scene related to their topic
Art projects or crafts connected to what they learned
Interactive displays or mini exhibits
Short videos to explain their topic

These activities help kids turn knowledge into something visual and creative. It also allows them to practice communication and storytelling.

🧠 Idea & Brainstorming Sessions

Campers work on developing their ideas.

Activities might include:

Mind maps or brainstorming charts
Planning how their project will look
Deciding how to explain their topic clearly
Getting feedback from instructors or peers

🎤 Sharing & Presentations

Toward the end of camp, campers show their creations through presenting their finished product(s) the group by showing their video, sharing facts, or particpating in a mini "showcase" or gallery walk.

This helps build confidence and presentation skills.

Apprentice academy

June 15-19

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to run your own food truck, solve mysteries like a detective, care for patients as a nurse, snap the perfect photo, or serve smiles from an ice cream truck? This week, campers won’t just learn about exciting careers — they’ll become them!

Each day brings a brand-new job to explore through interactive activities, creative projects, role-playing challenges, and team missions. Campers will design menus and “sell” their creations,

investigate clues and crack cases, practice basic first aid skills, capture amazing photos, and even create their own mini pop-up businesses. Along the way, they’ll build confidence, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and creativity.

This high-energy camp is perfect for curious kids who love to imagine, create, and discover new possibilities. By the end of the week, campers won’t just have fun memories — they’ll have new

skills, big ideas, and will become mini masters of many different areas!

What campers will do:

Kids Cooking Camp

June 22-26

Stir up the fun this summer at Kids Cooking Camp — where young chefs step into the kitchen and discover the joy of cooking! This hands-on camp is perfect for kids who love to mix, measure, taste, and create.

Throughout the week, campers will learn kitchen safety, basic cooking skills, and food preparation techniques while making delicious sweet and savory recipes. From baking tasty treats to preparing simple, healthy meals, kids will gain confidence as they chop, stir, sauté, and plate their own creations.

By the end of the week, your child won’t just bring home great memories — they’ll bring home new skills, big confidence, and a love for cooking that lasts long after camp ends.

The Cardboard Chronicles

July 6-10

Get ready to turn everyday materials into incredible works of art! In this creative, hands-on camp, campers will explore the magic of transforming simple cardboard into unique sculptures and woven designs using paper mâché and creative weaving techniques. Through guided projects and imaginative experimentation, campers will learn how to shape, layer, paint, and weave materials to bring their ideas to life.

Along the way, they’ll discover how artists reuse and repurpose materials, turning recycled supplies into colorful masterpieces. This camp encourages creativity, problem-solving, and patience while helping campers build fine motor skills and confidence in their artistic abilities. By the end of the week, campers will have a collection of original creations they’ll be proud to show off!

What campers will do:

Act 1: Lights Up

July 13-17

In the first week of this exciting theatre camp series, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of acting through energetic games, creative exercises, and imaginative storytelling. Campers will explore basic theatre concepts while building confidence, developing teamwork skills, and learning how to express themselves on stage.

Through playful activities and supportive group exercises, students will practice using their voices, bodies, and imaginations to bring characters and stories to life. This welcoming environment helps campers feel comfortable performing in front of one another while encouraging creativity, collaboration, and a love for the stage. Whether they’re pretending to be pirates, animals, superheroes, or silly characters, campers will discover that theatre is all about creativity, confidence, and having fun together.

What campers will do:

🎭 Theatre Warm-Up Games

Movement and stretching activities to get comfortable on stage
Voice projection games and silly sound exercises
“Mirror” activities where partners copy each other’s movements

🎲 Improvisation Games

Acting out silly scenarios without a script
“Yes, And…” storytelling games to build creative thinking

Please Note:

While these two theatre camps build upon each other, it is not a requirement to attend both weeks. Campers will still get a fun, full experience if they choose to only attend one of the two weeks.

Act 2: Curtain Call

July 20-24

In the second week of this theatre camp series, campers will build on the confidence and creativity they developed in Week 1 as they work together to rehearse and perform a short musical. Throughout the week, students will step into the world of musical theatre—learning songs, practicing simple choreography, and bringing characters to life through acting.

Campers will collaborate as a cast to rehearse scenes, explore stage movement, and discover how music, acting, and dance come together to tell a story. In a supportive and energetic environment, students will strengthen their teamwork skills, practice memorization and stage presence, and gain confidence performing in front of an audience.

At the end of the week, families will be invited to enjoy a special performance where campers showcase all their hard work and creativity on stage.

What campers will do:

🎭 Role Exploration & Casting

Trying out different characters and reading short scenes
Learning how actors interpret roles and express emotions
Assigning roles for the musical production

🎶 Song Rehearsals

Learning and practicing songs from the musical
Working on rhythm, projection, and singing together as a group
