A good spending plan can help you reach your goals and bring you a little extra calm. In this session we’ll talk about some of the basics when it comes to creating a plan that works for you. We’ll also share tips, tricks, and tools to keep you moving forward.

This session will offer valuable information on identifying, managing, and reducing debt, whether from credit cards, student loans or other sources. Navigating debt focuses on concrete ways to reduce debt through setting goals, identifying expenses to cut, and making regular strategic payments.

In this session we’ll talk money building strategies including making the most of your existing income and finding a gig to increase the money in your pocket. Verbal and Psychological Self-Defense: This class helps participants to learn: to identify and determine their personal risk factor, evade conflict, prepare if conflict is unavoidable, through awareness, boundary setting, personal value, through the use of verbal and psychological skills.
Phyiscal Self-Defense:This class teaches the science behind scientifically tested effective physical techniques to fend off an attacker of any size using leverage, timing, and efficacy of strikes. In order to participate in the physical self defense, attendance in the he verbal and self defense class is required.

This 45-minute interactive presentation by Youth Programs at NAMI Maine will include a PowerPoint presentation along with discussion. Participants will learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of an emerging mental health challenge. The presentation will provide helpful approaches to opening communication with youth you may have concerns about, as well as ways to confidently provide support. This presentation will include several ways to maintain mental health and what protective factors can support individuals who may be struggling with their mental health. We will provide and discuss mental health resources. We will finish the presentation with a discussion of the necessity of self-care for our own mental health safety and well-being.
