Hi! It's the MS.88 Medical House Green Teens, and we'd love to share a little bit about ourselves, our purpose, and the green team. . . read our autobiographies below!
Ms. Hefez is a 6th grade Math teacher in Medical House. She has been passionate about environmental issues since she was in Middle School. She is excited and proud to facilitate the green team and support this group of dedicated students in doing the important work of environmental advocacy.
I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to visit our website: every view counts, and every green action you take is helping our mission.
I live in Brooklyn, New York with my dog, Reggie, my parents, and a younger sister and brother (who drive me bananas, even though I love them to pieces!) I like to getaway from the craziness by reading, writing, and making art. I'm vegetarian, and trying to convince my family to let me be vegan -- which I know is hard on them, but necessary to me. I've been on (a) green team for 3 years now, (hopefully!) going on 4. Coincidentally, my favorite color has been green since 3rd grade.
I go to lots of environmental marches, and my hero is Greta Thunberg. My favorite environmental quote is, "You cannot go a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you get to decide what kind of difference you want to make." - Jane Goodall
What this means to me is that you have the power of deciding whether to destruct or encourage. It will go down in history, the path you choose, and you must make your choice now.
I am a part of the Medical house green team. This is my first year being on a green team, and it has been a wonderful experience for me. What inspired me to go join the green team was actually to escape the chaos of the lunch room, but after I joined the green team, I began to realize what was happening to our home, and I knew that I had to help make a difference in our environment. A little bit about me is that I like reading books that are not boring, writing about interesting things, science (but not ecology), math, making digital art (because I don't really want to use paper), and finally I like trying new things. One last thing I want to say is Thank You for taking your time to look at our website when you could be doing something else like binge watching Downton Abbey on Amazon.
. . . and I live in Brooklyn, New York with my parents and my 10 siblings. I am luckily part of this amazing program called the green team. Working with the green team members is like working with my family! I have been working as as a member for the past 3 years, soon going to make it 6 years.
I like to watch TV when I am bored. My favorite color is green!
The earth and our planet are very important, to not just me but to many others, and we have to work together and change people's views, until we change the way that they think. We have to make everyone proud of what they are doing for what they are doing to save the earth. I love to help people, especially to understand the meaning of the caring for the earth!
