After learning the concepts of rocket, now it's time for you to build, test, and compete.
After you have sign up, please add contact with 1001 Leonardo with Line or Instagram. You can claim the material, make it, and test it out as soon as possible. For every lunch break until 6/5, you can send a message in advance to Leonardo, and request for test launching on the field.
On 6/5, every group will get 1 opportunity to record their score.
Then on the following weeks, groups will also get the chance to request for testing every lunch break.
And finally on 6/12, every group will get 2 opportunities to record their score. Every group will have a total of 3 records of score.
After the competition, we hope each group can interpret the results and produce a short report about their data, which includes factors that modify the launch and calculations.
The first three place will receive a prize.

Rules of Competition
Materials
Inside your material packet, there will be:
Plastic soda bottle x2 (bottle)
Clay 80 grams
Plastic Carboard A4 size
We will provide the material listed above. You will get two plastic soda bottles. However, you are only allowed to use one for the compression chamber. For the tail wing, you are allowed to use materials other than the plastic cardboard. You are also allowed to use other materials to add weights to the rocket. Contestants are also allowed to add additional elements onto the rocket, but please inform the organizing team in advance.
When launching the rocket, the launching pad and the nozzle will be provided. Picture of reference are below.
Competition Elements
Landing Target
The aim for the contestants is to make a rocket and shoot the rocket into the area to score points! Each contestant will be given 1-2 chances to shoot their rocket and earn points based on the landing spot.
Scoring Area
The scoring area for this rocket competition is a set of concentric circles. The scoring area consists of 3 rings and 1 circle in the middle. The width of the ring is 20cm each, and the circle has a 30cm radius. The reference of the scoring area are below.
The scoring area will be positioned 40 meters away from the launch pad (measured from the launch pad to the center of the target). Contestants will earn points based on where their rocket lands. If the rocket lands on the boundary line between two scoring zones, the higher point value will be recorded.
Launching
During launch, safety goggles need to be worn all-time. The contestants get to modify the launching angle of the launching pad, psi of the bottle (a maximum of 80 psi), and the amount of water inside the bottle.
Data Recording
During the competition and testing, we wish each group of contestants can record the followings:
Amount of water
psi (pressure)
Launch angle
Flighting duration / distance
Any other factors (wind, remake rocket components, ect.)
After the competition, we hope each group can interpret the results and produce a short report about their data, which includes factors that modify the launch and calculations.
