About Mr. Meyer

Welcome to BAND! This is my 5th year teaching at Mahomet-Seymour Schools. While I travel between buildings, you are most likely to find me at the Junior High. I teach the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands; MSJH Orange & Blues Jazz Band; and the 5th grade brass & percussion. I also teach the Madrigal Brass Ensemble and assist with The Marching Bulldogs.

Before teaching at M-S, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, then completed my Masters in Music Education at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I worked closely with University Athletic Bands, including the Basketball and Volleyball bands and the Nation's Premier College Marching Band: The Marching Illini.

Outside of school, I spend most of my time with my wife, Allison, and my 90-lbs bundle of dumb love, Duke. I enjoy cooking (especially outdoors), woodworking in the garage, learning whatever instrument I can get my hands on, and challenging myself to home DIY projects.
