Advocacy at IEP/504 Meetings

The staff at Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 welcome advocates to attend student IEP or 504 meetings with families. Parents/guardians are welcome to invite anyone that they wish to attend these meetings - whether that be a grandparent, a community or medical-based service provider, or an educational advocate. If you have a meeting scheduled for your child and intend to bring a guest with you, please contact your child's IEP Case Manager/504 Coordinator to let them know who you are bringing with you to the meeting. We appreciate 48 hours notice if possible. Thank you!

CADRE Brochure for Parents on Educational Advocacy

To the left is a link to a brochure created by The National Center for Appropriate Dispute Resolution in Special Education (CADRE). This brochure shares information with families on how to select an advocate, how to get connected with parent centers in Illinois and lists additional resources. If you need further assistance, you may contact the M-S Student Support Services Department at 217-586-2161 as we would be happy to help connect you!
