About Mrs. Diskin

Meet Mrs. Jenny Diskin

I have been married to my husband Cody for eleven years. Until recently, he was the Dean of Students and Athletic Director at Fisher, but he made the difficult decision this summer to transition to a new career that will allow him to be at home more. We are blessed with three wonderful children: Camden, Chason, and Jayden. Camden is now 9 years old and entering 3rd grade. He is passionate about fishing, riding his scooter, drawing, and making plans for his "future farm". Chason just turned 7 in May and will be in 2nd grade. He loves sports, playing with friends, and collecting sports cards. Our youngest, Jayden, turned 3 in March, and her interests include taking care of her baby doll, painting, swinging, and going on walks. In addition to our children, we also welcomed a new puppy named Luda, an Australian Shepherd, into our family whom we rescued in May. Outside of school, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, exercising every morning, and engaging in various crafts using my Cricut machine.

I grew up on a farm in a small town near Lexington, Illinois, which is approximately 25 minutes north of Bloomington. My family and I have lived in Mahomet for the past 12 years, and we are grateful to be part of the Mahomet-Seymour School District. I earned my degree from Illinois State University in May 2011, making this my 13th year in teaching. I initially taught preschool here at Middletown in our at-risk and tuition-based program for 5 years. Before that, I spent 2 years teaching preschool in Danville. I have an endorsement in special education, and in 2015, I completed my Master's in Reading. Currently, I am pursuing my second Master's degree through the University of Illinois. I am truly excited about embarking on my sixth year as a kindergarten teacher and my thirteenth year teaching.
