I wanted to take a few minutes and introduce myself to you. My name is Sandy Prather. My husband Daren and I have been married for 37 years and have lived in Mahomet since 1994. We have been so blessed to be a part of this amazing school district and community and raise our kids here. This is also my "Senior" year! I am retiring at the end of this school year.
We have 3 sons. Jacob is 34 and lives in DesPeres, Missouri. He works for Bayer. Jacob loves working in the agriculture industry. Lucas is 31 and is married to Maggy. They have been married for 5 years. He works for Yockey Financial in Shelbyville, Ilinois. Matthew is our youngest son and our angel in Heaven. He died unexpectedly on March 24, 2016, at the age of 18, from an undiagnosed heart condition. He was a senior at MSHS. We miss him more than any words can possibly express. Matthew fit the youngest child role perfectly. He had a strong faith, was very strong-willed, was very ornery, a great athlete, and an absolute joy to be around. He looked up to his two big brothers immensely. He had planned to follow in his brother Jacob’s footsteps and be a part of the agriculture industry. He was headed to SIU Carbondale.
As our family travels this journey we find so much joy amidst the pain. Your children are a big part of the joy that I get to experience each and every day and I am so grateful that you are willing to share them with me this year.
