Read about the Cafe Events below and fill out the attached form at the bottom of the page to sign up for an event. On the date of the cafe, return to this website and click on the Zoom link provided at the scheduled time to join the virtual meeting. It is recommended that you are not signed in to a school email account when you click the link. Sign into a personal email account for better audio quality!
Cafe: Democracy Cafe
Description: We believe, now more than ever, that it is important to keep the conversations going. So we invite you to join area high school students and fellow citizens to talk about how we can use our voice as well as our Vote to shape the future. We will miss talking with you face-to-face, but we look forward to a great conversation on Zoom. Listening is a catalyst for change, especially in a democracy. And we believe becoming more skillful listeners can help us connect with each other in deeper ways and expand our perspectives beyond our personal “bubbles.”
The Café will begin with a clip from the film TOMORROW which tells a story of how one community shaped a new future through democratic dialogue. Then in our small groups, we will practice ways to engage others in “conversations that matter” to build trust, rekindle optimism, and shape the future we all want.

Cafe: Virtual Planning Meetings
Description: We hope you and your families are safe and well!
Although it looks like our "in person" Cafes will not happen this Spring, "conversations that matter" are more important than ever! There are a lot of important questions to talk about. How will we foster the future? How will we make sure that youth have a voice -- about their education, about the environment, about their role as citizens and emerging leaders? How will we create sustainable solutions? How will we engage more students and reach a broader community? How will we develop the skills we need to lead social change? How will we continue to speak up for the Great Marsh?
To keep these conversations going, we want to shift to Virtual Cafes on Zoom -- and we need your help with the new design! Please join us on April 4 to talk about next steps.
