In 2024 passing the Literacy and Numeracy Unit Standards have become a co-requiste to gaining a NCEA qualification. Reading and Writing are worth 5 credits each, while Numeracy is worth 10 credits. These are digital assessments.

There are two opportunities to be assessed in 2025.
Term 2 week 4 May 19
Term 3 week 8 and 9 (early September)
Although for 2024/2025 these credits can be gained by a select number of Achievement Standards at L1/2/3, if these credits count towards Literacy or Numeracy they will NOT be counted towards your 60 credit total to pass.
