The Marina Child Development Center is a very special campus. Not only do we have 7 general education preschool classrooms, but we also house our Birth-5 Special Education Department with 8 classrooms and our specialized speech and occupational therapy services. Two of our general education classes have now become fully inclusion classes to hybrid both of these learning needs. We are so excited to be able to accomodate and provide a space for young children to thrive and provide equitable opportunities for all.

In our best efforts to create a fully inclusive campus, we have replaced our Speech and Occupational Services portables! With that, we are getting a fully renewed front entrance for ADA accessibility!

Spotlight on Learning
The teacher uses provocations for intentionality based on the children's interests in plants.
As en extension of the exploration, the teacher uses plants to cook with to show the process of agriculture.
"I liked the flower we ate. It made my tummy happy," says Eduardo. The children were able to taste some sprouts and other vegetables and the children are able to connect their experiences in school with the real world.
Jurnee tells us, "I liked when we painted and when we drank the juice. We painted sunflowers." When children are able to define their preferences in their own curriculum, they become autonomous in their independence in learning.
