MRPS EL Program
Welcome to the MRPS EL Program
The ELL program serves students
1) who have a demonstrated need for English language and/or cultural support and
2) whose first language is a language other than English, or whose family uses a language other than English in the home.
ELL teachers work closely with classroom teachers and families to determine students’ needs, and to provide services to meet those needs. Using a range of instructional practices, students are provided with instruction that builds upon their cultural, linguistic, and academic experiences.
Students from many different language groups receive English Language Learner (ELL) support. The most common languages spoken, in alphabetical order, are: Bosnian, French, Fuzhounese, Hindi, Kinyarwanda, Malayalam, Mandarin, Marathi, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
We’re here to help your students and family become full, active members of the MRPS community. Please contact us anytime with questions, concerns, or ideas!
