MHS CTE Academy Application Process

Interested in joining our CTE Academy?
Follow the steps below to get started!

1. Students who are entering 9th or 10th grade should contact Middletown High School Guidance Department or our Career and Technical Education Director Donna Sweet at 401-846-7250 to discuss the Academy that is right for you! 

2. Attend the Middletown High School CTE Showcase Night in January! If unable to attend, please call the MHS Guidance Office to schedule a tour and make an appointment to speak to a CTE Academy staff member. 

3. Fill out a CTE Academy application! Applications can be found by clicking here.

Admissions Timeline

The timeline may be adjusted by the Middletown Assistant Superintendent if it is in the best interest of students or the district.

Application Deadline:

Applications for enrollment in a Middletown CTE Academy will be accepted thru March 31st for the following September starting school year. Decisions on these applications will be communicated to families by March 31st. Seating in CTE class priority is given to in-district students. Any remaining available seats will be filled by qualified applicants using a lottery system in accordance with the RI Regulations on Career and Technical Education. A waiting list will be established where space is not available.

Application Acceptances:

Applications for enrollment will continue to be accepted if spaces in the Academy programs is available. Priority will continue to be given to in-district students. Once the Master schedule is developed, any remaining available seats will be filled by qualified applicants using a lottery system in accordance with the RI Regulations on Career and Technical Education. A waiting list will be established where space is not available.
