Manchester High School is proud to participate in the Advanced Placement program. The Advanced Placement program is owned by CollegeBoard which has very specific guidelines that are required of all the participating schools around the country, including the cost, dates and times of the exams. The AP program is intended to provide high school students with an opportunity to experience a college level curriculum. While the AP test is a standardized measure of a student’s knowledge base in specific content areas.
Each AP course concludes with a college-level exam developed, and scored, by college faculty members and AP teachers. This exam enables students to apply new critical thinking skills. Most two- and four year recognize the AP scores in the admission process and accept successful exam scores for credit, advanced placement in college, or both.
