Our Staff

Tom Hoppensteadt

Mr. Hoppensteadt teaches AP Environmental Science, Ecology of Cape Cod, CP Environmental Science, and Biology and serves as our Department's Curriculum Chair. Tom has been teaching in Mashpee for 21 years. Prior to entering public education, he worked as a Fish and Wildlife Biologist for 15 years as a researcher as well as resource manager. His undergraduate work was completed at the University of Montana and Graduate degree was received from Bridgewater State University.


Mark Rosbach

Mr. Rosbach teaches Anatomy and Physiology and 8th grade science. He has been teaching in Mashpee since 2001. He earned his bachelor's degree from University of Massachusetts. Graduate work was done at Cambridge College and American International University. In addition to teaching, Mr. Rosbach has been a chaperone on the Washington D.C. trip for 7 years.


Dan Leader

Mr. Leader teaches our Physics classes including AP Physics 1 and 2, Physics Honors and Introductory Physics. He also teaches one section of Algebra 2. He has been teaching in Mashpee since 2008.

Mr. Leader earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and an Ocean Engineer degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Joint Program. Prior to starting his teaching career, he served as a submarine officer in the United States Navy for 22 years.


Doug Crook

Mr. Crook teaches AP Chemistry, H and CP Chemistry and Forensic Science. He has been teaching in Mashpee for 6 years and has been teaching overall for 22 years. Mr. Crook has a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, a Master of Education from Cambridge College and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from University of New England.


Stephanie Soares

Mrs. Soares teaches AP Biology and Biology H. She has been teaching in Mashpee for 5 years. Mrs. Soares studied Biology at Gordon College. Prior to coming to Mashpee, she worked teaching in public and private schools and worked in the health-care field.


Jessica Friedman

Mrs. Friedman teaches Science 8 H and Environmental Science. She has been teaching in Mashpee for 3 years. Mrs. Friedman studied biology at Elon University and Bridgewater State University. Prior to teaching, Mrs. Friedman worked in the health-care field.
