About Mrs. York

Hello Families!

This year, I am serving as a Special Education teacher, co-teaching and collaborating  to support the learning and growth of all students in full-day prekindergarten and kindergarten classrooms.

This marks my 28th year in teaching. Over my career, I spent 15 years as a K–2 Special Education teacher and 11 years teaching an Integrated Preschool class. This will be my third year providing Special Education services—both through inclusion and targeted pull-out support—for full-day Pre-K and Kindergarten students.

A native of Cape Cod, I have taught in Mashpee for the last 27 years. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Special Education from Keene State College, a Master of Education from Cambridge College, and my C.A.G.S. in Early Childhood Education from American International College.

At home, my husband Nat and I have been married for 14 years, and we have an 11-year-old son named James. We love spending time with family, friends. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, going to the movies, scrapbooking, and eating ice cream!

I am a lifelong learner who loves bringing fresh ideas into the classroom. My goal every day is to inspire a love of learning so each child develops the confidence and skills needed to reach their highest potential.
