I’d like to wish you a warm welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! Whether you are a family joining our school community for the first time or have attended Rohwer for years, I am eager to welcome you to Rohwer!
As a new face in our community, I’d love to take a moment to introduce myself as Principal. It's an honor and a privilege to serve as the principal! I'm deeply passionate about creating an exceptional environment for our students, staff, and community.
My 11 years in education have provided me with a rich variety of experiences, most recently as an Administrative Intern at Cottonwood Elementary. Before that, I taught 4th and 5th grades at Waverly Intermediate School and Sandoz Elementary in Millard. I believe in the power of outstanding teaching, vibrant classroom communities, and schools where everyone feels welcome and supported.
I'm incredibly grateful to serve such a special place, and I'm committed to working hand-in-hand with all of you to make sure Rohwer continues to be a place where every student can achieve their very best.
I hope this newsletter helps your family feel prepared to start the year. As questions or concerns arise, please don't hesitate to contact the me or our office staff at 402-715-6225. We are excited to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Karly Barada

**NEW** Cell Phones, Watches & Other Devices: In alignment with Nebraska state law (LB140), starting in the fall of 2025, students in elementary schools may not use mobile devices, including cell phones and smartwatches, during the school day—from the time they arrive until the end of the day. If devices are sent to school, they must be kept turned off and stored in backpacks or other designated areas during school hours.
This update was made following thoughtful input from parents, staff, and students at the district level and is designed to support student focus and comply with state law. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations with your child.
If you need to reach your child during the school day, please contact the school office directly at 402-715-6225.
