On the first day of practice, watch these videos to learn about "pausing".
Spend about one minute at least 4 days a week reviewing the "pausing" strategy and visual with the student. Post the visual in areas that the student frequents (i.e., desk, small group table, etc...). It might be helpful to do your review of the strategy with the student right before a one-on-one or small group session with the child and then you can model and assess any improvements you notice during that group time on the data collection sheet in Step 3. You can also utilize the pausing marks when reading with the child.
When you have spent about a month/20 data points intentionally reviewing, modeling and utilizing the "pausing" strategy with the student. Complete the bottom section of this data collection form. and follow up with the SLP.
