Good afternoon! Thank you for such a great start to the school year. This class came in ready to go and we have had some great discussions this week. Ask your child to explain to you why no maps are correct, which was a big discussion in Unit Studies both yesterday and today. 

Here's what we are learning next week: 

Reading - The Marble Champ - Predicting / Clarifying

Math - Multiplication / Place Value

Writing - Shurley review / Opinion writing

Social Studies - Major world lakes

We will take the math MAP test on Monday and Tuesday morning at 8:50am. Please make sure your child is rested and on time those days. We will take the ELA MAP test the following week. 

Important Dates - 

August 22 - Picture Day (Paper order forms went home today)

August 28 - Curriculum Night (in person) 4:30 - 5:00 

Coming home in folders tonight are the picture order form, chess club sign up, information about our ELA field study, and information about 5th grade curriculum.
