Competition Marching Band

Competition (Varsity) Marching Band will involve wind and percussion players, Drum Majors, and the Color Guard for approximately the first quarter of the school year. The required summer Band Camp is regularly scheduled for Late July to early August to prepare for the busy and competitive performance schedule that runs through October. Early morning rehearsals are scheduled during the marching season beginning at 7:15 a.m. Evening rehearsals will also be scheduled. The Millard South Marching Band will perform at all home football halftimes, the Millard Days parade, and five to six marching competitions. Additional performances are scheduled when appropriate.

Exhibition Marching Band

Exhibition (Junior Varsity) Marching Band is a non-auditioned introductory marching education for most new students to marching band. It is heavily focused on musician development and marching basics. and has a lighter performance schedule than the Varsity Marching Band. The intent of the class is to expose students to the marching arts and adequately prepare students for the rigor of Competition Marching Band.
