Fall Fun 5K Race

DDRC runners will venture out to Chalco Hills Recreation Area where they will put their skills to the test.  This 5K event simulates the professional race experience.  Metals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female runners at each grade level.

Invite a Parent to Practice!

Come join your runner in practice as they prepare for race day!  Each runner is allowed to invite a parent or other adult in their family on this day.  Parents will park and meet at 3:55 in the back grassy area of the school to run some laps with their runner.  Remember to give them lots of encouragement and we hope to see you there.

Maverick 5K/10K Run

Saturday, April 26th, 2025

DDRC Runners will venter to Aksarben in Omaha to participate in a 5K.  This event is put on by the University of Nebraska Omaha.  In this authentic race experience, students will compete against each other, as well as, other runners around Omaha.  Students will receive t-shirts, medals, and other items upon completion of the race.  Cost of registration is not provided by the DDRC or Disney Elementary.

Fueling and proper hydration before a race is essential.  On this day, students will participate in a pasta feed to gain some race fuel.  We will also go over race day information and hand out supplies if they are delivered.

Runners can participate in an additional 5K race to put all their practice and abilities to the test.  Student transportation is not provided by the school.  Parents and other family members are encouraged to come to the event and can even register for the run!

This fun race is open to ALL!  Come join the DDRC runners, parents, coaches, and other Disney Elementary staff in an inflatables 1 mile race.  This race has an entry fee to help fund the DDRC and is totally worth it!  The registration comes with a racing bib and finisher balloon when completing the course.
