Who qualifies?
Students with speech sound concerns in the classroom environment.

What does intervention look like?
Classroom teacher implements strategies in the classroom, including modeling and/or verbal recasts. SLP is available for coaching and consultation. Classroom teacher takes data on strategy use and speech progress.
Who qualifies?
Students who have not made progress in Tier 1 interventions OR students who have exited Tier 3 interventions.

What does intervention look like?
SLP completes speech screener to identify appropriate target sounds for classroom intervention.
Classroom teacher meets with SLP to develop interventions for classroom. SLP will model how activities are to be completed.
Interventions are done at 1-3 times per week in the classroom.
After 4 weeks of consistent interventions, the SLP and classroom teacher meet to review data. If the student is not making adequate progress, the team should move to Tier 3 and/or complete a consent to evaluate. If the student is making progress, the SLP will consult with the classroom teacher for an additional 2 weeks for gradual release.
Who qualifies?
Students who did not make adequate progress in Tiers 1 & 2 and whose errors have a negative educational impact.

What does intervention look like?
Student receives direct intervention services from the SLP through an Individualized Education Plan.
