The Montclair Public School District will expand preschool enrollment in the 2024-2025 school year from 11 to 19 classrooms. Please complete the application below (starting on 1/12/2024) if you are interested in enrolling your three- or four-year-old child in our full-day program for the 2024-2025 school year.  All students must be Montclair residents and three years old by 10/1/24. Applications will be available on January 12, 2024, at 9:00 am.

Applications will be considered in the order they are received.

The application will be available on January 12, 2024, at 9:00 am. Applications for the first round of placement will be collected from January 12, 2024, through January 22, 2024. Eligible students will be placed in the order they are received. If there are more applicants than open spots, students will be placed on the waiting lists for all ranked locations. 

Eligible applications received by 9:00 am on January 22, 2024 will be notified if they have received a placement or are on the waiting list by January 26, 2024. Families must complete the online registration (including making an appointment with the Registrar) for MPS and any registration information required by the assigned center within 30 days of placement notification. Registration days will be scheduled in each location to assist in this process. If these important registration documents are not completed within 30 days, the preschool spot will be given to the next eligible family on the waiting list. 

Applications received after 9:00 am on January 22, 2024, will be placed on the waiting list and notified as placements become available.

To ensure socioeconomic diversity, priority will be given to children who qualify for free and reduced lunch and/or income driven scholarships.

If your child has been placed at a provider location (MCPK, Neighborhood Childcare, YMCA, MCDC), you will need to complete the registration for BOTH Montclair Public Schools AND the assigned provider location. For DLC and Nishuane, only the MPS registration is required. Please DO NOT complete these forms if you are on the waiting list and have not been assigned a location.
