Welcome to the course!

Twitter is a popular social media tool that has been used by millions of people since 2006. There are over 300 million users each month. On average, there are over 6000 tweets posted every second! According to Wikipedia: "During the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Twitter was the largest source of breaking news on the day." In this course you will learn how to set up an account and use Twitter for learning, communication, entertainment, networking, or gathering news and information.

This course is completely online.

Outcomes:

In this course you will learn:

  • What Twitter does
  • How to setup an account
  • How to use it
  • How to be involved with a child's account
    • Note: Twitter's Terms of Service state that users must be at least 13 years old.

Certificate:

To earn a 2 hour Parent University certificate of completion, you are expected to spend a total of 90-120 minutes interacting with the content which includes reading text, creating & using a Twitter account and completing all of the module completion tasks at 100%. This can be completed in one sitting, or come back at your convenience. The deadline for completion is Friday, May 15, 2020.
