Sound Safari: Create Your Own Musical Instrument
In this activity, students will explore the science of sound by creating their own musical instruments.
Objective: Students will learn how sound is made through vibrations by designing and creating their own musical instruments.
Directions: Students will explore the science of sound by creating musical instruments. Start with a demonstration of how vibrations create sound using a rubber band and box. Provide materials like tissue boxes, paper towel rolls, cups, and rubber bands for students to design and build their instruments. Encourage creativity and let them decorate their creations. Once complete, students will test their instruments and observe how sound is affected. This fun activity blends creativity and science!
Guidelines: Students will be creative and use the materials provided, such as tissue boxes, paper towel rolls, cups, rubber bands, and more. Students will decorate their instruments with markers and stickers to make it unique. Test their instruments by playing it to see how the sound changes.
