For the month of November we focused our thematic unit on turkeys.
We read the book Turkey Trouble. Students were tasked with disguising their turkey so he would not be found and eaten by Farmer Brown. After disguising their turkey, they wrote a narrative describing how they hid their turkey and whether or not they believed Farmer Brown would be able to recognize it. Students were then able to present their turkey to the entire class. During the unit, students were also able to research and participate in discussions about turkeys.
